Printed Broadsides & hand written letters @The Late Shows & Lime Street

The warm-up event for The Late Shows will take place on Friday 17 May with a special programme of events exclusively in the Ouseburn Valley, 7-11pm. Theresa Easton will be in her studio@36 Lime Street offering the public the chance to contribute to her latest exhibition at Globe Gallery in June, part of  Stevie Ronnie’s (Level 5) & Suzy O’Hara’s creative contribution to the Festival of the North East’s exclusive  Dear Angel.  Come along and leave your own personal message that will be transformed into an original, hand printed broadside.

Saturday night (18th May) you will find the doors of The Lit & Phil open to the public from 7-11pm where writers and artists offer interactive tours and have a go activities. There’s the chance to make your own book with Theresa Easton, printmaker, book artist and  BALTIC Artist’s Book Fair organiser.  Another creative project celebrating the Festival of the North East, for two days only, 14th & 15th June, over 30 bookmakers, comic artist’s, zine makers and bookbinders will be exhibiting and selling their work on Level 1.  Also on offer are expert workshops in Calligraphy by Dr Manny Ling & Bookbinder Deidre Thompson.  For full booking details and further information click HERE.
