The North East’s legendary culture crawl The Late Shows returns on 17 and 18 May 2013. Cultural venues across Newcastle and Gateshead will open their doors from 7pm to 11pm, offering a range of free events, exhibitions and performances.
The warm-up event for The Late Shows will take place on Friday 17 May with a special programme of events exclusively in the OuseburnValley. On Saturday 18 May, museums, galleries and heritage sites will stay open late right across Newcastle and Gateshead.

Poor Art – Arte Povera is an exhibition specially curated for the Late Shows 2013 by Maggie Walker and features new work from 36 Lime Street Artists. The theme is inspired by the Italian Arte Povera group and also references current challenging times. Poor Arte – Arte Povera is in the Entrance Gallery and ground floor level. See image ‘State of Being’ Sue Woolhouse. Sue Woolhouse and Maggie Walker will also be opening their studios on
level 1.
